CCC Newsletter March 1999

20^th & 21^st March - "Silver Screen Stories" - Community Show 1999

Rehearsals for the show are going very well - with a cast of around twenty people this is our biggest and best Community Show yet! You should have received some flyers with this newsletter - please display them at home, school or work and give them out to all your friends and family. We're depending on members to help publicise the show so PLEASE make sure you tell as many people as possible! If you need any more flyers or some large posters please see Gill or come along to a Sunday workshop session.

You can buy tickets for the show from the Drama Centre on 01223 322748 - they cost £6 or £4 concessions. We're running on a very tight budget so the more tickets we can sell the better.

5^th June - Strawberry Fair 1999

We will hopefully have an even larger presence at Strawberry Fair this year than last year - and with the number of unicyclists and stiltwalkers we have now we should be able to make a real splash during the parade! If you have any ideas or questions about what CCC should do for the Fair then please contact Charlie on (01223) 315172. This could be an idea for a costume, a show or anything else.

News

We recently received £1000 from Cambridge City Council which is the last part of the 1998 grant award to the Community Circus. As some of you know, this was held back until we had approached other funding agencies for support, but because of our Lottery bid and the fact we raised a large amount of our own funding last year the Council decided to give us the remainder.

Workshops

Please note there will be no workshop on Sunday 21^st March due to the Community Show. We have also had to put trapeze workshops on hold for the moment due to lack of teachers - we'll try and restart them in April.

1999 May ? 6-day convention near Norwich - camping, big top, more details as we get them.

There are LOTS of Cambridge jugglers going to the British Convention - if you ask around on Sunday you might even be able to arrange a lift. See you there!
