Zippo’s Circus
Zippo’s is a tented circus with the accent on human skills and they are coming to Cambridge between the 8th and 13th October, pitching up on Midsummer Common. We have negotiated a special price for CCC members and friends – if we get at least 12 of us together tickets will cost only £4 for grandstand seats – that’s compared to £6.50 for children and £8.50 for adults. We intend to go to the show on Saturday 10th October at 6 p.m. - if you want to come, tell Charlie and turn up in front of the show at 5.45 p.m. on the day. Please bring your friends and family!
If you can’t make that date, you can get tickets by phone on (01223) 357851 or (07050) 121416 or at the box office on site from the 8th onwards. Tickets cost from £3.50 - £10 for children and £5.50 - £12 for adults.
You may also be interested to know that Zippo’s run a travelling circus school from 1st May to 31st October which involves joining the circus on the road during that period. Auditions are in London on the 27th October – call for details on (07050) 282624.
If you’d like to see a bit more of Zippo’s, we’re currently negotiating a special behind-the-scenes visit for CCC members (probably on the Saturday as well) – call Charlie if you’re interested.
Grafton Centre Children in Need
The Grafton Centre have asked us to come along and juggle, unicycle etc. on Sunday 18th October betweeen 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. for their Sponsored Toddle for Children in Need This year they have made a special arrangement with the Centre to allow unicycling, stilts etc. (those of you who went last year may recall that there were some problems with this!). If you want to come along, please call Charlie or Lindsay Messenger on (01223) 563586 – bring bright clothes and props as usual.
Workshops
We’re now back in the Drama Centre until July next year with the usual program of regular weekly workshops, some special skills sessions and more. Remember to check out the Library box for books, videos and magazines to borrow. We’ll also hopefully be running some absolute beginner’s trapeze classes and a special fire juggling evening – keep listening at the end of the workshop for details.
